About Clara Brereton: Born and raised in Shropshire, UK; studied French and German at Cardiff University for four years, including Erasmus periods spent in Normandy and Bavaria; moved to Liège, Belgium shortly after my degree where I began working as an English immersion teacher with young children; returned to University (Bristol, UK) in 2009 to study MA in Translation and completed two internships as a Translator, including one with the EU; currently teaching English at the University of Liège to students of science, engineering and psychology, as well as working as a self-employed Translator (French, German and Dutch into English) and Teacher (French and English)

About Maureen Smith: I was born in London, moved to Cheltenham when I was 2 and was educated at Pate’s Grammar School for Girls – 1961 – 1967; attended Monmouth School for Girls 1967 – 1968; went to Doncaster College of Education (affiliated to Sheffield University) from 1968 – 1971 where I completed my Certificate of Education; taught in a comprehensive school in Rotherham and a middle school in Bradford; moved back to Gloucestershire in 1977 and embarked on career as Executive Officer with the Civil Service; 2009 trained with Trinity College for TESOL qualification and with GlosColl for PTLLS (Lifelong Learning Sector) Certificate; 2009-2011 worked for Adult Education in Gloucestershire as ESOL Tutor; currently Private Tutor in Functional English to adults; 11+ coaching and General Basic English to children, as well as teaching at annual Summer Schools for young overseas students.
